Everyone has a story

 

My journey as an Allstate agent began on July 4th 1999.  A few weeks before that date I had stopped in to my insurance agent, George Denniston's, office to pay my bill.  I was surprised to see that Mr. Denniston's right hand woman was not there. He let me know she and her husband had relocated to Florida.  He quickly followed up with, "if you know anyone looking for a job send them my way!'

At that time, I had recently graduated from SUNY Morrisville with a degree in Communications and was working at a child care center.  I figured, this moment was an opportunity for me to take a leap out of what I was doing and into some that had more of a career path. What could it hurt, Allstate is a great company, after all my great-grandmother, my grandparents, my parents, and I all had Allstate and George Denniston as our agent.  I took the leap and said, "I would not mind giving this job a try."  

George hired me on for the summer, he was going to enjoy his first born grandchild, his family, and his cottage.  I was going to figure out if I really wanted to write for a living.  By the end of that summer I realized that I probably should have majored in business. I found that I really enjoyed working in the insurance industry and the key to building great relationships with our clients came from the communication skills I learned at SUNY Morrisville.  

I headed back to school, first for my insurance agent licensing and then onto business classes at FLCC. By the summer of 2000 I had all the same licenses that the agency owner had and was ready to take on whatever came my way... and boy did it come. Shortly after getting my licenses I had my first experience running the agency on my own, as a health issue sidelined my mentor. 

I loved the challenge and the ever changing needs of our clients from there forward I knew what my ultimate goal was. I wanted to own the agency someday.

During my time with this agency I was able to work side by side with two of the most knowledgeable agents in the industry.  The years of mentoring I received from George Denniston and June Birrittella propelled my career forward and placed me among the top producing Licensed Sales Producers in the state of New York. Over the years our agency was recognized for it's excellence in customer service and business acquisition.  Winning top honors from the carriers we serve.

When June decided it was time for her to retire, I could only see one path forward.  It was my turn to step into the role of agency owner.  I could not be more pleased with my decision to do this.

In our ever changing world I am excited to be able to help our clients navigate the changes.  Having a knowledgeable team on your side to not only build out excellent coverage for you, but to assist you in navigating the marriage of technology and business is important.  Our extended hours of operation allow clients to get personalized help on their schedule.  The use of technology allows us to meet face-to-face even if it is through a screen. 

Of course, we still love a traditional meeting but that does not work for everyone.
